Principal Security Field Engineer

Location: Remote within the United States; California is listed, and candidates in other US locations will be considered

Salary: $216,200–$297,350, $229,800–$315,900, $243,300–$334,500, or $270,300–$371,700 USD annually, depending on pay zone

What you will do

• Work with field teams and customers to explain Databricks security architectures, address security concerns, and handle compliance questions.
• Create scalable customer-facing content, including slide decks, white papers, and potentially customer-usable code.
• Train and enable Databricks employees through internal content, knowledge management, and technical guidance.
• Identify customer pain points and collaborate with product management and product marketing to improve the product and its messaging.
• Contribute to internal services, automation, and systems that support field staff and customers.
• Learn and apply common security and compliance regimes to reduce customer effort and uncertainty.

Requirements

• 7+ years of technical pre-sales or post-sales experience explaining complex technical concepts.
• Strong understanding of security principles and architectures, with the ability to communicate them clearly.
• Real-world experience across multiple security domains, such as IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, network and endpoint security, web applications, vulnerability management, identity management, and SIEM.
• Experience with scripting or programming and an interest in using AI to scale impact.
• Ability to work remotely from within the United States.
