Forward Deployed Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote - US; 100% remote from the United States with semi-frequent local and national travel to professional office settings and events, including some overnight travel.

Base salary: $170,000–$190,000 USD per year, excluding benefits and potential bonuses.

What you will do

• Support strategic customer accounts during onboarding, pilots, optimization, and ongoing operationalization.
• Partner with TAMs, Product, Engineering, and security stakeholders to understand customer SOC workflows, policies, escalation paths, and operational goals.
• Review investigations and identify tuning opportunities, workflow friction, outcome gaps, and ways to improve customer trust.
• Configure customer-specific response workflows, notifications, escalations, and approved system behaviors.
• Measure tuning coverage, workflow adoption, analyst feedback, resolution trends, and other operational impact indicators.
• Build repeatable playbooks and communicate product gaps with clear customer evidence and operational context.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Architect, Security Engineer, Detection Engineer, Technical Customer Success Engineer, or Sales Engineer.
• Strong understanding of SOC workflows, alert triage, escalation paths, investigation quality, analyst expectations, and security operations.
• Technical experience with scripting, development, APIs, integrations, networking, SRE, CloudOps, DevOps, or security automation.
• Ability to translate ambiguous customer context into precise technical configuration and manage multiple customer workstreams.
• Strong written and verbal communication, judgment around product gaps and escalation, and comfort working directly with customers.
• Comfort working in an early-stage environment with ambiguity, high ownership, and data-driven decision-making.

Nice to have

• Experience with SIEM, EDR, SOAR, cloud security, detection engineering, or security automation.
• Experience with APIs, integrations, workflow automation, enterprise pilots, or strategic customer deployments.
• Experience building repeatable customer delivery playbooks and supporting both pre-sales and post-sales motions.
