Senior Software Developer (Python/Cloud)

Location: On-site in Herndon, Virginia, United States; travel up to 10% within the US.

Salary: USD $75,000–$188,725 per year, depending on level, qualifications, clearance, location, and contract requirements.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain secure, high-performance software applications in Linux environments.
• Build full-stack applications with modern frontend interfaces and backend services.
• Deploy cloud-based applications in AWS GovCloud and C2S using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and support secure, reliable software delivery.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, create technical documentation, and conduct peer code reviews.
• Provide technical guidance to junior developers.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
• US citizenship is required.
• Senior-level candidates need a bachelor's degree with 5 years of related experience, a master's degree with 3 years, an associate's degree with 9 years, or a high school diploma/GED with 12 years.
• Proficiency in Python, Linux/Unix command-line tools, software development processes, unit testing, code analysis, release processes, and code coverage.
• Experience with AWS services such as S3, Lambda, SQS, or SNS; React or Angular; RESTful APIs, FastAPI, or Node.js; Docker; Kubernetes; and CI/CD tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to lift up to 30 pounds and perform walking, bending, and driving duties.

Nice to have

• Terraform and infrastructure-as-code experience.
• NoSQL database experience with MongoDB, Elasticsearch, or OpenSearch.
• Experience with TypeScript, CDK, Streamlit, or Vue.
• AWS Certified Developer, Certified Solutions Architect, CISSP, or Security+ certification.
