Project Manager Offshore (Automation)

Location: Madrid, Tres Cantos, Spain; Portugal. Hybrid remote/office work with more than 40% international and national travel depending on project phase and customer or site requirements.

What you will do

• Lead complex Offshore Automation sub-projects from tender involvement through engineering, execution, testing, commissioning, and final handover.
• Own project execution, including cost, schedule, quality, risks, contractual obligations, and customer satisfaction.
• Coordinate customers, engineering teams, commissioning, suppliers, consortium partners, and international stakeholders.
• Manage risks, claims, opportunities, changes, deviations, resources, technical clarifications, and customer expectations.
• Implement standardized technical solutions and modular execution approaches to improve quality, efficiency, scalability, and profitability.
• Use digital tools, data-driven reporting, and AI-supported methods to improve planning, decision-making, collaboration, and project governance.

Requirements

• Technical degree in automation, electrical engineering, process automation, computer science, industrial engineering, or a comparable field; vocational education may also be considered based on experience.
• Recognized project management certification such as PM@Siemens or IPMA.
• Approximately 10 years of project management experience in process automation, industrial automation, energy, infrastructure, offshore, or comparable large-scale environments.
• Strong understanding of automation and control systems, software-based solutions, engineering workflows, testing, and commissioning interfaces.
• Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, forecasting costs, evaluating project economics, and protecting profitability.
• Excellent English and Spanish communication skills, willingness to travel internationally and nationally, and openness to cross-cultural collaboration.
