Head of Onboarding & FinCrime Operations (Fintech)

What you will do

• Own the vision, strategy, and execution for global Onboarding and FinCrime Operations.
• Build, lead, and develop a globally distributed operations team while managing capacity for business growth.
• Define location and resourcing strategies supporting 24/7 coverage, customer experience, quality, and cost efficiency.
• Create scalable operating rhythms, OKRs, performance management practices, and consistent documentation.
• Balance financial crime risk, customer experience, and commercial impact through timely, high-quality decisions.
• Lead continuous improvement and AI transformation in partnership with Risk Product, Engineering, and Financial Crime Compliance.

Requirements

• Senior leadership experience in large-scale, multi-jurisdiction operations within regulated financial services, payments, or fintech.
• Deep knowledge of AML/CTF, sanctions, KYC, transaction monitoring, investigations, and first-line controls.
• Experience scaling FinCrime or Onboarding Operations across multiple products and geographies.
• Proven delivery of automation or AI-led transformation in an operations environment, or strong strategic and technical fluency to lead it.
• Strong commercial and analytical judgment, including unit economics, scalability, and return-on-investment analysis.
• Experience managing outsourced, BPO, or offshore capacity at scale and influencing across Operations, Product, and Risk.

Nice to have

• Experience with cross-border payments and multi-entity, multi-licence environments.
• Experience with technical, API-first products and tooling or rule evolution with Risk Product and Data teams.
• AI transformation experience in Onboarding and FinCrime Operations.
• Top-tier consulting or operator-investor background.
• Relevant certification such as CAMS, ICA, or ACAMS.
