What you will do
- Lead the development, refinement, and optimisation of AML and fraud transaction monitoring typologies, scenarios, and rules.
- Conduct and oversee complex Level 1 transaction monitoring alert reviews, documenting clear and consistent dispositions.
- Investigate potentially suspicious activity and escalate relevant cases to the 2LoD Investigations team.
- Provide subject matter expertise and challenge on transaction monitoring, fraud indicators, and investigative practices.
- Support the implementation and embedding of transaction monitoring and fraud controls across business areas.
- Monitor regulatory developments and emerging financial crime risks while supporting continuous control improvement.
Requirements
- Significant hands-on experience in AML transaction monitoring within a first-line Financial Crime function.
- Experience developing, refining, and enhancing transaction monitoring typologies, scenarios, and monitoring rules.
- Strong understanding of AML, CTF, sanctions, and KYC regulations and their application to investigations.
- Experience investigating complex transactional activity, making risk-based decisions, and managing escalations and exceptions.
- Excellent communication, organisation, prioritisation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid working environment.
Nice to have
- Experience in asset management, investment management, wealth management, platform services, or funds.
- Professional qualifications such as ACAMS, ICA, or an equivalent certification.
