What you will do

• Support fraud monitoring and risk controls across merchant acquiring products including card acceptance and settlement.
• Contribute to the end-to-end acquiring lifecycle from merchant onboarding and underwriting to live transaction monitoring.
• Identify and mitigate fraud typologies such as card-not-present fraud, friendly fraud, and chargeback abuse.
• Manage merchant KYB/KYC and underwriting processes in compliance with UK regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with card schemes, acquiring partners, and processors to resolve operational and fraud-related issues.
• Monitor and manage disputes, chargebacks, and refunds to ensure thresholds and SLAs are met.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in merchant acquiring, payments, fraud prevention, or financial crime within a regulated environment.
• Solid understanding of merchant onboarding, underwriting, and transaction lifecycles.
• Knowledge of fraud monitoring, AML/CTF requirements, and regulatory obligations.
• Familiarity with UK payment systems like Faster Payments (FPS) and PCI DSS standards.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and investigation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience in banking, fintech, or a regulatory body.
• Background in a high-growth startup or scale-up environment.
• Relevant certifications such as CAMS, CFCS, or ICA.
• Experience supporting card scheme audits or compliance reviews.
