Distinguished Engineer, Frontier Agentic AI

Location: USA - Remote

Salary: $235,000–$350,000 per year, plus eligibility for bonuses, equity grants, and benefits.

What you will do

• Define research directions for frontier AI applications in cybersecurity and identify new capabilities for defenders.
• Design and build end-to-end AI and agentic systems that combine models, reasoning, tools, security telemetry, data, and execution environments.
• Develop systems that improve through investigations, adversary behavior, simulations, expert feedback, and other training signals.
• Build benchmarks, cyber environments, and evaluation harnesses to measure security efficacy, reliability, performance, and cost.
• Set technical direction across the Cybersecurity Superintelligence Lab, mentor senior researchers and engineers, and guide major architecture decisions.
• Turn research prototypes into scalable production systems operating on high-volume security data and against adaptive adversaries.

Requirements

• PhD in computer science, computer engineering, applied mathematics, statistics, neuroscience, or a related quantitative field.
• Sustained record of original work at the intersection of AI and cybersecurity, including influential research, systems, open-source software, or technical community contributions.
• Deep cybersecurity expertise in areas such as threat hunting, detection and response, vulnerability research, adversary behavior, security analytics, or security automation.
• Hands-on experience architecting and deploying end-to-end AI systems that combine models, reasoning, tools, data, and execution environments.
• Experience with autonomous or multi-agent systems, long-horizon reasoning, adversary simulation, closed-loop security systems, adversarial learning, reinforcement learning, model post-training, or synthetic data.
• Demonstrated technical leadership across teams, including setting research and engineering direction and mentoring senior technical talent.
