Lead Engineer (AI)

Location: 100% remote from Spain or Germany; occasional work from abroad is subject to approval.

What you will do

• Lead and mentor frontend, backend, and full-stack engineers through hands-on coaching and team development.
• Write production code, orchestrate AI agents, and conduct technical reviews.
• Establish agentic coding practices and AI-first engineering workflows.
• Maintain architectural standards and software quality as AI-generated code scales.
• Collaborate with Product, Data, DevOps, and QA teams.
• Build autonomous agents and AI-native tools that improve delivery, bug fixing, feedback loops, and business efficiency.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• At least 1–2 years of experience in a fast-growing scale-up.
• Production-level full-stack experience with TypeScript/JavaScript, React, Node.js, NestJS, and Next.js.
• At least 2 years of formal engineering leadership experience while remaining hands-on with code during the last two years.
• Daily experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar agentic workflows.
• Excellent written and spoken English; the role is remote from Spain or Germany.
