Senior Data Platform Engineer (AI)

Location: Munich (Haar), Germany; hybrid work with 3 days per week in the office and 2 days remote.

FWW Fundservices provides verified fund data, fund documents, and analyses to banks, insurers, asset managers, distribution platforms, and media as part of the international ISS STOXX group.

What you will do

• Design and develop database and data-processing solutions for regulatory fund data formats, including EMT, EET, and EPT.
• Build data models, processing pipelines, and client-facing interfaces.
• Develop and deploy AI-supported tools for automated extraction from fund documents and data maintenance.
• Build processes for handling and distributing European fund documents.
• Collaborate with fund data, client support, IT, development resources, and external partners to define and deliver robust solutions.
• Help establish the new development unit, including technical standards, knowledge management, and future team leadership.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience in backend and data platform development.
• Experience with relational databases, data modeling, APIs or interfaces, and data pipelines.
• Production experience with AI-supported data processing, ideally LLM-based document extraction and automation.
• Experience with XML, JSON, SQL, and programming languages such as Python.
• Ability to take solutions from requirements through stable operation and translate between business and technical perspectives.
• Business-fluent German and English required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of fund or financial data, including EMT, EET, EPT, FinDatEx templates, or WM data.
• Initial project management experience.
• Experience working within a corporate group environment.
