Data Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Build an agentic framework that lets colleagues ask questions in plain language and receive grounded answers from certified data.
• Serve analytical data to employees, internal agents, and customers through semantic layers, APIs, and MCP servers with appropriate access controls.
• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and data ingestion and processing frameworks in a modern cloud environment.
• Own and evolve the infrastructure behind the data platform, improving stability, performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to scope work, solve problems at the source, and refine data workflows and architecture.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience building ingestion and transformation frameworks for large, fast-growing datasets.
• Experience designing, building, and operating APIs for analytical data, including performance, reliability, versioning, and authentication.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, and version control.
• Hands-on experience building LLM-powered applications or agents using tool use, retrieval, evaluation, and MCP.
• Strong knowledge of dimensional modelling, metric definitions, semantic layers, data privacy, and access control.
• Experience building data products collaboratively with engineering and other stakeholders.
