TL;DR

Privacy Officer (SaaS privacy and compliance): Running Askable’s global privacy program from the Brisbane office with an accent on Privacy Impact Assessments, data subject requests, regulatory monitoring, and ISO 27701 readiness. Focus on maintaining ROPA and subprocessor records, coordinating UK and US DPO consultants, delivering privacy training, and managing privacy controls across Australia, the UK, and the US.

Location: In-person at the office in Brisbane, Australia

What you will do

Own the Record of Processing Activities, subprocessor register, and Vanta privacy controls across three entities.
Run Privacy Impact Assessments for new features and processing activities.
Triage and coordinate responses to data subject requests within statutory timeframes.
Co-manage relationships with UK and US external Data Protection Officer consultants.
Deliver the annual privacy training program and monitor developments in Australian, UK, and US privacy frameworks.
Support ISO 27701 maintenance, audit readiness, DPA reviews, and annual privacy policy and notice reviews.

Requirements

Approximately three years of experience in privacy, data protection, or compliance with substantial privacy responsibilities; strong practical experience may be considered at an earlier career stage.
Hands-on experience leading Privacy Impact Assessments or Data Protection Impact Assessments.
Working knowledge of at least one of the Australian Privacy Act and APPs, UK GDPR, or CCPA/CPRA, with exposure to another framework.
Experience maintaining or contributing to a Record of Processing Activities and handling data subject requests.
Clear, precise written communication and the ability to translate legal requirements into plain English.
Good judgement, practical problem-solving skills, and the ability to work across legal, technical, and commercial teams.

Nice to have

Experience in a SaaS or technology company.
CIPP/A, CIPP/E, CIPM, or another relevant privacy qualification.
Familiarity with ISO 27701, a Privacy Information Management System, Vanta, OneTrust, or a comparable GRC platform.
Awareness of the EU AI Act or ISO 42001.
