Corporate Counsel, Pacific (Insurance)

What you will do

• Provide end-to-end legal and regulatory support to hirify.global’s Pacific operations in Australia and New Zealand.
• Review, draft, negotiate and approve policy wordings, schedules, endorsements and related insurance documents.
• Advise on broker-led and manuscript wordings, distribution models, binder agreements and third-party arrangements.
• Advise on insurance law, financial services regulation, privacy, premium funding and policy cancellation matters.
• Review customer-facing collateral, communications, disclaimers and legal notices.
• Instruct external counsel and support broader regulatory, company secretarial, APRA and ASIC-related matters.

Requirements

• Proven post-qualified senior legal experience in-house or in private practice, with general insurance experience.
• Law degree or tertiary legal qualification and an unrestricted Australian practising certificate.
• Strong understanding of general insurance, Australian privacy law and the Australian Privacy Principles, contract law and financial services law.
• Experience reviewing, drafting and negotiating insurance policy wordings, endorsements, schedules, binder agreements or distribution arrangements.
• Strong drafting, problem-solving, stakeholder management and commercially aware legal advisory skills.
• Valid rights to work in Australia are required; employer sponsorship is not available.
