Scientist / Engineer (mRNA LNP)

Location: Hybrid role in Waltham, Massachusetts, for US and Puerto Rico residents only

Salary: $85,500–$123,500 per year

What you will do

• Lead formulation optimization and process understanding for mRNA-containing lipid nanoparticle formulations and production processes.
• Design and conduct small-scale, multi-component LNP formulation and stability studies.
• Support the transfer of new LNP compositions from Research into CMC development and develop initial formulation processes.
• Perform in-process drug product characterization and analytical testing to troubleshoot formulation and processing issues.
• Coordinate advanced LNP characterization activities with Analytical Sciences and analyze development data.
• Document studies in an electronic lab notebook and present progress, results, and conclusions to scientific teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or a related discipline with at least 5 years of formulation or process development experience; or a Master’s degree with at least 3 years of experience.
• Ph.D. in a relevant discipline with at least 6 months of formulation or process development experience; academic experience may be considered.
• Strong scientific understanding of pharmaceutical formulation and process development.
• Ability to independently design experiments, analyze complex datasets, and recommend development strategies.
• Strong organization and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Applicants must be US or Puerto Rico residents and able to work in the hybrid Waltham, Massachusetts location.
