Principal Scientist – Molecular Cell Biology (Gene Therapy)

Location: Boston, Massachusetts, United States. Up to 10% travel may be required for conferences or training.

Salary: $107,700 annually.

What you will do

• Advance new gene therapy programs in collaboration with cross-functional project teams.
• Perform cell culture and molecular biology experiments for gene therapy research.
• Establish functional assays to measure gene therapy outcomes in vitro and in vivo.
• Develop and characterize novel assays for endpoint analysis in in vivo studies.
• Deliver project data within expected timelines and maintain detailed records in an electronic laboratory notebook.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in biology or a closely related field.
• At least 3 years of relevant laboratory experience.
• Must be authorized to work full-time in the United States; work authorization or visa sponsorship is not provided.
• Significant aseptic cell culture experience, including gene therapy experiments such as AAV or LNP workflows.
• Experience with nucleic acid and protein isolation, PCR, qPCR, ddPCR, and protein analysis methods.
• Strong problem-solving, organization, communication, collaboration, and troubleshooting skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with mouse and non-human primate tissue processing.
• Experience using laboratory workflow automation, including liquid handling.
• Familiarity with primer design, sequencing preparation, and analysis.
