Director of US Government Engagement (Quantum Technology)

Salary: $210,000–$260,000 base annually, plus a discretionary bonus, equity, and other compensation

What you will do

• Develop and execute the US government engagement strategy across policy, legislation, and funding priorities.
• Build bipartisan relationships with congressional offices, committees, federal agencies, state governments, and defense stakeholders.
• Represent hirify.global in political, policy, industry, think tank, and government forums.
• Shape authorization, appropriations, legislative, and regulatory outcomes through targeted advocacy.
• Identify and secure government funding and partnership opportunities with business development and technical teams.
• Monitor policy, budget, and regulatory developments and provide recommendations to company leadership.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in government, congressional affairs, public policy, or government relations.
• Demonstrated success influencing government decisions through policy development, legislation, or public funding.
• Strong understanding of US federal policymaking, authorization, appropriations, agency budgets, and legislative processes.
• Established relationships across Capitol Hill, the executive branch, and federal departments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical topics to government audiences.
• Collaborative experience working across business functions to support commercial opportunities.

Nice to have

• Experience with the Department of War, congressional defense committees, defense budgets, acquisition pathways, or technology transition.
• Experience in a technology startup or scaleup, advanced technology, defense, or aerospace.
• Experience shaping policy or funding for quantum technologies, AI, semiconductors, space, or advanced sensing.
• Experience with state government engagement, economic development, or AUKUS-related cooperation.
