Manager, Commercial Counsel, GTM (AI)

Location: San Francisco, California; hybrid role requiring work from the San Francisco office at least 3 days per week

Annual salary: $320,000–$385,000 USD

What you will do

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial, SaaS, and technology transaction agreements for enterprise technology customers and startups.
• Partner with Sales and Go-to-Market leadership to support deal velocity and provide practical legal guidance.
• Build and maintain contract templates, legal playbooks, and commercial legal processes.
• Manage, hire, develop, and lead attorneys and legal professionals supporting enterprise and startup segments.
• Identify and appropriately escalate legal risks while supporting business momentum.
• Monitor legal developments affecting AI technologies.

Requirements

• Law degree such as JD, LLB, or equivalent, with eligibility to work as in-house counsel where based.
• Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, SaaS agreements, or technology transactions.
• Demonstrated people-management experience, including hiring, developing, and leading legal professionals.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain legal concepts to non-lawyer stakeholders.
• 8+ years of legal experience is preferred, with substantial commercial contracts, SaaS, or technology transactions experience.
• Active membership in the California state bar is preferred.
