Senior Network Engineer (Cisco)

Location: On-site in Springfield, Virginia, United States; active Top Secret clearance required

Salary: $60,000–$180,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Support network infrastructure, routine maintenance, availability and capacity management, upgrades, and system recapitalization.
• Oversee the High Speed Guard cross-domain solution for transferring data between multiple classification domains.
• Install, configure, and maintain Cisco switches, firewalls, and related network equipment.
• Build optimized firewall policies and rule sets to improve efficiency and threat prevention.
• Deploy network configurations meeting NIST, FISMA, and STIG compliance requirements.
• Maintain configuration documentation and support ATO reviews, audits, and incident response activities.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret security clearance and ability to obtain government Entry on Duty suitability determination.
• Bachelor’s degree and 12–15 years of relevant experience; additional education and experience may substitute for the degree.
• CCNP certification.
• Experience engineering, deploying, and operating LAN/WAN switches and firewalls.
• Knowledge of defense-in-depth, network security architecture, network topology, device integrity, and information security incident response.
• Experience with network management tools such as SolarWinds, WhatsUp Gold, NetQoS, or NetBrain, plus VMware, Linux, Microsoft Server, and Active Directory.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in IT Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of IT service delivery management experience.
• Experience with User Activity Monitoring platforms and the Everfox High Speed Guard Platform.
• Experience with Cisco, Juniper, and Palo Alto network infrastructure and firewalls.
• CISSP, CCNP Security, or Palo Alto Networks ACE certification.
