Staff Software Engineer - Network

Location: Alpharetta, Georgia, United States; additional locations include Atlanta, Georgia, and Lowell, Massachusetts.

Salary: $129,500–$186,100 base pay per year, plus potential performance-based bonuses and restricted stock unit awards.

What you will do

• Design, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network infrastructure across data centers and public cloud environments.
• Apply expertise in routing, switching, segmentation, connectivity, traffic management, and high-availability networking.
• Develop infrastructure as code and network automation using Terraform, Ansible, Python, and Jinja2.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for validating and deploying network configurations and infrastructure code.
• Diagnose complex network issues using packet captures, protocol analyzers, logs, and monitoring platforms.
• Collaborate with architecture, security, product, business, and partner engineering teams; participate in on-call support.

Requirements

• 8–10+ years of professional network engineering experience, including substantial hands-on experience with core networking.
• At least 3 years of infrastructure-as-code or network automation experience with Terraform, Ansible, Python, or comparable tools.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Jinja2 templates, highly available production infrastructure, and formal change management.
• Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF, route redistribution, HSRP or VRRP, LAN/WAN design, VLANs, trunking, spanning tree, link aggregation, and segmentation.
• Experience with public cloud networking in GCP, AWS, or Azure and with Cisco, Juniper, or equivalent technologies.
• Willingness to participate in on-call support and planned work outside normal business hours.

Nice to have

• Google Cloud networking experience, including routing, load balancing, NAT, firewalls, or hybrid connectivity.
• Experience with Fortinet or Palo Alto firewalls, F5 load balancers, VPNs, tunneling, SSL certificates, monitoring, or protocol analysis.
• Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIS, or a public cloud networking certification.
