Procurement Specialist (Copper and Aluminum) (Procurement): Executing purchasing and local sourcing strategies for copper and aluminum materials in ABB’s Electrification Business with an accent on supplier performance, cost optimization, quality, delivery, and sustainability. Focus on developing suppliers, conducting negotiations and RFQs, applying should-cost tools, and maintaining procurement standards through SAP, Excel, and Power BI.

Location: Onsite in Apodaca, Nuevo León, Mexico

What you will do

Execute purchasing and logistics strategies for copper, aluminum, and related materials.
Optimize supplier cost, quality, reliability, delivery, and sustainability.
Design and implement local sourcing plans aligned with business targets.
Support supplier development, onboarding, negotiations, and inventory or VMI agreements.
Apply procurement standards, tools, and processes to ensure compliance and business requirements.
Deliver and participate in procurement training programs as required.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, industrial, or a related engineering field.
At least 5 years of experience in procurement specialist, senior buyer, or similar roles.
Experience with direct purchasing and copper and aluminum suppliers.
Knowledge of cost breakdown or should-cost tools and the RFQ process.
Mandatory experience with SAP ERP, Excel, and Power BI.
Advanced English proficiency required.
