Indirect Sourcing Lead (Automotive)

Location: Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico

What you will do

• Lead indirect procurement activities supporting manufacturing operations, maintenance, facilities, engineering, and capital projects.
• Manage purchase requisitions, purchase orders, supplier quotations, expediting activities, and urgent operational requirements.
• Support CAPEX sourcing through scope clarification, supplier coordination, commercial negotiations, and purchase order execution.
• Monitor backlog, purchase order cycle times, supplier delivery performance, service levels, savings, and CAPEX project status.
• Drive supplier accountability, consolidation, standardization, cost reduction, cost avoidance, and purchasing process improvements.
• Provide functional guidance to buyers, MRO coordinators, and stakeholders while coordinating with Maintenance, Facilities, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Supply Chain, International Business, International Relations, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• At least 5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, indirect sourcing, supply chain, inventory control, MRO procurement, services procurement, or CAPEX purchasing.
• Experience with purchase requisitions, purchase orders, supplier follow-up, expediting, purchasing controls, and CAPEX procurement projects.
• Experience with ERP, purchasing, or asset management systems such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, EAM, Jaggaer, or similar platforms.
• Advanced Excel skills, including reporting, KPI tracking, data analysis, and pivot tables.
• Advanced English proficiency, strong supplier management and negotiation skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Nice to have

• Experience in manufacturing, automotive, or industrial operations.
• Experience managing MRO inventories and replenishment strategies.
• Experience leading supplier consolidation, standardization, strategic sourcing, and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Knowledge of budget management, purchasing controls, capital expenditure processes, and procurement metrics.
• Experience influencing stakeholders without direct authority and coordinating sourcing with engineering and operational teams.
