Commodity Manager (Mechanical Components)

Location: Chihuahua, Mexico; hybrid schedule with at least three days per week in the office

What you will do

• Develop and implement direct-material sourcing strategies for mechanical components supporting the Controls & Solutions business unit.
• Lead supplier development, capacity increases, regionalization, cost containment, delivery, and supply-assurance initiatives.
• Forecast containment and inflation projects and improve trade working capital through payment terms, inventory, and lead-time optimization.
• Establish supplier agreements and conduct electronic sourcing bid events.
• Collaborate with Supplier Quality to improve supplier performance and PPM results.
• Lead meetings, make presentations, and communicate sourcing strategies to large groups.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• At least five years of experience in procurement or a related function.
• Strong project management, process-improvement, communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and charts.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.
• Ability to work in the Chihuahua office at least three days per week and adjust hybrid days according to business needs.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• Seven years of procurement experience and at least three years of commodity management experience.
• Experience developing and sourcing mechanical-component suppliers, including familiarity with stamping and machining processes.
• Project management experience and the ability to read blueprints.
