Cloud Network Engineer (AWS)

Location: Hybrid or remote depending on geographic proximity to a hirify.global office; travel to offices or datacenters as needed (5–10%).

What you will do

• Operate and maintain on-premises and AWS cloud network infrastructure, including routing, switching, firewalls, security groups, and datacenter resources.
• Design and implement AWS network architectures using VPCs, Transit Gateway, VPN, Direct Connect, Route 53, and network security controls aligned with FedRAMP, ISO 27001, and SOX.
• Lead CIDR overlap remediation by auditing allocations, designing conflict-free addressing, and executing re-IP work with minimal production disruption.
• Coordinate network design, shared infrastructure changes, and incidents between the Network and Cloud Ops teams.
• Develop infrastructure automation with Terraform, Ansible, and Python, and mentor network administrators and engineers on cloud networking.
• Participate in a shared 24x7 on-call rotation, maintain network documentation, and manage connectivity vendors and renewals.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of network administration or engineering experience, including 2+ years of hands-on AWS cloud networking.
• Experience with AWS VPC design, Transit Gateway, VPN, Direct Connect, Route 53, and hybrid network security controls.
• Administrator- or Engineer-level on-premises networking experience with Cisco NX-OS/IOS/IOS-XE, Dell, and Palo Alto equipment.
• CCNA certification or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Experience implementing security controls aligned with ISO 27001, SOC 2, and FedRAMP.
• Strong documentation, analytical, organizational, and cross-team communication skills.

Nice to have

• CCNP in progress or equivalent Network Engineer-level experience.
• Experience with IPAM tools such as NetBox, phpIPAM, Infoblox, or BlueCat.
• Experience with Azure networking, hybrid connectivity, FedRAMP authorization or continuous monitoring processes.
• Experience with project leadership, EIGRP, BGP, RADIUS, TACACS+, Duo, Okta, or Cisco ISE.
