Senior Network Engineer - Toronto Canada Remote

Location: Remote; Toronto, Canada. Workplace type: Fully remote.

What you will do

• Lead and mentor a team of 4–6 Senior Network Engineers.
• Run daily scrum calls, coordinate priorities, and manage on-call rotations and workload distribution.
• Oversee escalations and resolve network incidents and major incidents with minimal operational disruption.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate incident status to stakeholders.
• Support performance reviews and professional development planning.

Requirements

• 8–12 years of experience in network engineering, including 2–3 years in a leadership or team lead role.
• Expertise with Cisco and Nexus switches, VLANs, trunking, spanning tree, and BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP routing.
• Hands-on experience with Palo Alto and Check Point firewalls, including policy configuration, troubleshooting, high availability, and optimization.
• Experience with Meraki networks, cloud-based network management, physical and virtual F5 load balancers, and Cisco SANs.
• Knowledge of network monitoring with SolarWinds and scripting or automation using Python, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Experience with firmware updates, patch management, hardware lifecycle management, incident management, and technical documentation.

Nice to have

• CCNP or higher.
• PCNSE, CCSE, F5 certification, or ITIL certification.
