Network Automation Engineer (Python/Ansible)

Location: Hybrid with four days onsite in Wilmington, Delaware, Manassas, Virginia, or Urbandale, Iowa

hirify.global is recruiting for a direct-hire Network Automation Engineer position supporting enterprise network and cloud automation initiatives.

What you will do

• Develop scalable, secure automation frameworks for multi-site and global enterprise networks.
• Automate network operations across routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, NAC, WAN, SD-WAN, and Zero Trust architectures.
• Support hybrid cloud networking initiatives and connectivity across AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.
• Implement infrastructure and network change workflows using version control, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Collaborate with technical teams to establish automation standards, governance, and maintainable engineering practices.
• Participate in on-call rotations supporting production environments.

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of enterprise network engineering experience in multi-site or global environments.
• Hands-on experience with network automation and operational scripting, including Python and Ansible.
• Strong knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, NAC, and WAN technologies.
• Working knowledge of Terraform, REST APIs, version control, and CI/CD for infrastructure or network changes.
• Experience with Cisco routing, switching, ISE, and DNA Center, as well as Palo Alto and Zscaler platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience, plus the ability to support production on-call rotations.

Nice to have

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, network testing frameworks, or event-driven automation.
• Knowledge of AI-assisted development and intelligent automation techniques.
• Cisco DevNet, CCNP, CCIE, PCNSE, CISSP, AWS Networking, or Azure Networking certification.
• Two or more years focused specifically on hands-on network automation and scripting.
