Specialist IV - Project Manager (Electrical Engineering)

Location: Canada — Brossard. The detailed location section identifies Markham, Ontario, near Toronto. Regional travel of up to 25% is required.

Salary: CAD $95,000+ depending on experience.

What you will do

• Manage multiple large, multidisciplinary projects from proposal conception through commissioning and close-out.
• Track and stabilize projects while resolving obstacles and anticipating customer needs related to SEL products.
• Support customers with the design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning, and operation of automation and protection systems.
• Lead delivery within agreed scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements.
• Lead the creation and finalization of customer-approved functional design specifications and support proposals for SEL equipment, services, and systems.
• Mentor and develop professional staff and supervise as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline.
• 6+ years of project management experience related to electric power systems, industry practices, and philosophies.
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
• Ability to learn new skills, assume new responsibilities, and work cooperatively in a team environment.
• Willingness to travel regionally up to 25%.
• Satisfactory background check and negative drug test results are required.

Nice to have

• 4+ years of application experience with electric power systems, protection and control, integration, automation, or communications applications.
• Professional Engineer, Project Management Professional, or equivalent certification.
• Experience in electrical utilities, industrial plants, consulting engineering, or system integration.
• Working knowledge of MS Project or other project management tracking software.
