Associate Director, Site Operational Excellence (Manufacturing)

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, United States; onsite at the manufacturing plant.

Target base salary: $137,200–$188,700 per year.

What you will do

• Implement the Operational Excellence strategy, operating system, management infrastructure, mindsets, behaviors, capabilities, and Industry 4.0 practices across the plant.
• Lead and coach cross-functional OPEX teams, workstreams, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement programs across the site scorecard.
• Conduct diagnostics using data analysis, floor observations, process monitoring, and employee interviews.
• Develop and oversee tactical implementation plans, stakeholder check-ins, program sustainability, and performance tracking.
• Build OPEX capabilities through training for site leadership, frontline leaders, and frontline employees, serving as the site’s lead trainer for continuous improvement tools.
• Identify loss opportunities, track enabler savings, improve cost of product sold, support change management, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• High school degree or GED.
• 5+ years of experience with Operational Excellence, Lean, and Six Sigma fundamentals.
• 5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• 3 years of people management experience.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Cross-functional manufacturing experience with strong knowledge of OPEX, Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, Visual Factory, and 5S.
• Continuous Improvement certifications such as Lean or Lean Six Sigma, with experience leading or executing Operational Excellence and organizational learning and development in manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of Operational Excellence, Lean Manufacturing, and Asset Care & Reliability.
• Experience improving organizational capability through learning and development programs and/or High-Performance Work Systems.
• Knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and SAP.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire, engage, and motivate.
