Product Manager, Developer Tools & Compiler

Location: Bothell, Washington, United States; must be able to commute at least twice a week. Travel is approximately 10%, typically for team off-sites and partner visits.

Salary: $124,000–$186,000 USD base compensation per year.

What you will do

• Own and prioritize the backlog of features, improvements, and bug fixes for developer tools and the compiler.
• Translate developer needs, customer feedback, and roadmap goals into product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Partner closely with engineering on sprint planning, backlog grooming, design reviews, standups, and technical trade-offs.
• Understand compiler, gate-set, simulation, SDK, and optimization-toolchain architecture well enough to guide product decisions.
• Shepherd features through release, coordinating documentation, release notes, and enablement.
• Measure adoption and product quality after launch and use findings to refine the backlog.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, physics, applied mathematics, electrical engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of product management experience, preferably with developer tools, SDKs, APIs, compilers, or technical platform products.
• Experience writing clear product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for engineering teams.
• Experience working in agile engineering teams and making prioritization decisions.
• Technical ability to read code, use an SDK, and participate in architecture and API design discussions.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States and satisfy applicable U.S. export-control and government-contract requirements.

Nice to have

• Hands-on Python experience with scientific or numerical computing libraries.
• Familiarity with compilers, intermediate representations, or optimization toolchains such as LLVM or MLIR.
• Exposure to Qiskit, Cirq, PennyLane, quantum information science, or quantum computing.
• Experience with open-source developer communities, GitHub issue triage, benchmarks, or technical performance criteria.
• Familiarity with HPC, cloud computing, or scientific research environments.
