Network Operations Specialist

Location: Remote within the United States; the successful candidate must live in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Maryland, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas, or Virginia.

What you will do

• Monitor routers, switches, circuits, backbone connections, and other network infrastructure using network management systems and alarm notifications.
• Respond to alerts, outages, incidents, and potential security threats; create tickets and escalate issues according to incident management procedures.
• Perform initial diagnostics and coordinate issue resolution with engineering teams, field technicians, customer support, and external teams.
• Support network maintenance, upgrades, migrations, hardware and software deployments, firmware updates, patches, and equipment replacements.
• Analyze traffic patterns and performance metrics to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
• Maintain incident records, standard operating procedures, market documentation, and network equipment records.

Requirements

• Must reside in an eligible U.S. state where hirify.global operates.
• High school diploma or equivalent; an associate’s degree or higher in IT, network engineering, telecommunications, or a related field is preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in network operations, IT support, or telecommunications.
• Knowledge of Layer 2/3 networking, BGP, OSPF, SNMP-based monitoring, network security, and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Experience with network monitoring software, CLI troubleshooting tools, ticketing systems, incident management, and service restoration processes.
• Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and possible overtime.

Nice to have

• CCNA, CompTIA Network+, JNCIA, or equivalent certification.
• Hands-on experience with fiber-to-the-premise, fixed wireless, or enterprise network environments.
