Category Manager (Technology Sourcing)

Location: Hybrid, two days per week in the office; must be based in Bellevue, Washington, or the San Francisco Bay Area

Annual base salary: $130,000–$178,000 USD for candidates in California excluding the San Francisco Bay Area, Colorado, Illinois, New York, and Washington; an additional stated range is $116,000–$160,000 USD.

What you will do

• Develop and lead sourcing strategies for Software, Network, SaaS, IaaS, Telephony, AI, and related technology categories.
• Manage complex, high-value RFx events, supplier evaluations, and commercial negotiations from end to end.
• Negotiate project agreements and partner with Legal on Master Service Agreements and related exhibits.
• Drive cost optimization, economic analysis, supplier risk mitigation, and service-quality improvements.
• Manage strategic supplier relationships, performance reviews, escalations, and cross-functional alignment with Finance, Legal, Security, and Privacy.
• Build spend-analysis models, report savings and market trends to leadership, and mentor junior sourcing professionals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in technology sourcing and procurement, including category management, strategic sourcing, vendor management, or risk management.
• Experience independently leading complex, high-dollar, or high-risk sourcing projects and technology contract negotiations.
• Experience mentoring junior category managers or sourcing staff and managing strategic supplier relationships.
• Ability to build data models and spend analyses and present recommendations to senior leadership.
• Advanced proficiency with sourcing and contract systems such as Workday Strategic Sourcing, Coupa, or Ironclad.

Nice to have

• CSCP, CPSM, CPIM, or similar professional certification.
• Experience with M&A-related sourcing, contract novation, and consolidation.
• Experience improving sourcing processes or policies across a function.
• Experience with analytics, reporting, ERP, and financial systems.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
