Innovation Chemist (Beauty & Personal Care)

Location: On-site in Houston, TX, US; preference for candidates located in the Houston area.

What you will do

• Develop skincare, haircare, and other personal care products from concept through customer presentation.
• Create prototypes that demonstrate ingredient functionality and support the sales process.
• Plan and conduct comparative studies, material benchmarking, customized testing, and formulation work.
• Operate, calibrate, maintain, and optimize laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Product Management, Sales, suppliers, and customers on new business opportunities.
• Manage a project pipeline through the Stage and Gate process while maintaining accurate records and a safe, organized laboratory.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience as a scientist, formulator, or chemist in a laboratory.
• Experience with chemical product formulations in the Beauty and Personal Care industry.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize workloads, and coordinate effectively with distributed teams.
• Ability to build positive relationships with customers and suppliers and balance customer needs with company objectives.
• Computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
