Director, IT Security (Security Strategy & Transformation)

Location: New York City, NY, United States; hybrid attendance required 8 days per month. Other listed locations include Cary, Tampa, Waltham, Philadelphia, Princeton, and Chicago. Onsite interviews may be required.

Base salary: $181,900–$325,050 USD, plus bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Define and execute the enterprise security strategy, multi-year roadmap, investment priorities, OKRs, KPIs, and maturity models.
• Design and lead the security operating model, portfolio governance, PMO capabilities, and enterprise-wide transformation programs.
• Establish governance and reporting for cybersecurity, privacy, technology risk, resilience, compliance, and incident response.
• Prepare executive- and board-level communications on security posture, risk exposure, program performance, and investment outcomes.
• Guide secure adoption of cloud, AI/ML, automation, observability, AI agents, generative AI, and semantic search technologies.
• Lead cross-functional change management and develop security communities of practice and centers of excellence.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, risk management, business administration, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in security strategy, enterprise transformation, technology risk, program leadership, management consulting, or related areas.
• Experience partnering with CISO, CIO, CTO, or equivalent executives in large, complex organizations.
• Experience designing and governing enterprise security programs covering IAM, cloud security, vulnerability management, insider risk, privacy, and resilience.
• Knowledge of NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, ISO 27001, COBIT, SOX, HIPAA, and PCI DSS frameworks.
• Strong executive communication, strategic planning, portfolio governance, change management, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in cybersecurity, information systems, business administration, or a related field.
• CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CGEIT, PMP, or equivalent certification.
• Experience in healthcare, financial services, software, or technology organizations.
• Experience with enterprise AI governance, responsible AI, and security strategy for emerging technologies.
