Director, AI Security

Location: Grapevine, Texas, United States; primarily computer-based work with approximately 15–20% travel and flexibility required for critical security decisions and incidents.

Salary: Base compensation of $213,196.95–$236,885.50 annually, plus annual bonus and equity eligibility. A broader compensation range of $165,820.00–$236,885.50 is also listed.

What you will do

• Define and lead the enterprise AI security strategy, operating model, governance, roadmap, resources, and capabilities.
• Extend enterprise security architecture and standards to AI platforms, applications, agents, model services, and hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
• Establish security controls and operational practices for secure AI development, deployment, monitoring, detection, and incident response.
• Build AI inventories, agent identity and authorization standards, secure GenAI/RAG and MCP reference architectures, threat-modeling methods, red-team programs, and vendor/model assessment processes.
• Partner with Product Security to protect AI-enabled connected devices and pharmacy automation, including segmentation and fail-safe or human-approval controls for device- and medication-affecting decisions.
• Lead governance, risk oversight, compliance, executive reporting, and cross-functional collaboration across Security, Engineering, Data, Privacy, Legal, and Quality/Regulatory.

Requirements

• 15+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, security architecture, engineering, or technology risk, including 5+ years leading enterprise security or AI security capabilities.
• Experience with formal enterprise security architecture practices, reference architecture ownership, ARB participation, and controls spanning identity, network, data, and application layers.
• Strong knowledge of GenAI, LLMs, agentic AI, RAG, vector databases, IAM, privileged access, Zero Trust, cloud security, API security, threat modeling, and security operations.
• Experience in healthcare, medical devices, or another highly regulated environment, including OT, ICS, IoMT, connected devices, or comparable cyber-physical systems.
• Working knowledge of IEC 62443, NIST SP 800-82, FDA cybersecurity guidance, and clinical network segmentation.
• Strong executive communication and cross-functional influence are required.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• CISSP, CCSP, CISM, SABSA, TOGAF, cloud security, IAPP AIGP, or GICSP certification.
• Experience with Azure, OpenAI, Copilot, Bedrock, Vertex AI, Anthropic, Databricks, LangChain, MCP, AI gateways, posture management, model scanning, or non-human identity.
• Familiarity with OWASP LLM guidance and MITRE ATLAS, or experience building AI registries and AI incident-response programs.
