Mechanical Design Engineer – Junior Position (Robotics)

Location: Bar-Lev, Israel; onsite role

Company

Develops robotic systems for cleaning solar power plants, including robots and their supporting infrastructure.

What you will do

• Perform and lead mechanical design activities for solar power plant cleaning robots and auxiliary systems.
• Design robot docking stations, bridges between photovoltaic modules, and other mechanical components.
• Prepare part-level and assembly-level drawings according to engineering standards.
• Design and develop jigs and fixtures for robot testing and assembly.
• Update bills of materials, develop prototype parts, and represent engineering during in-house and field testing.
• Prepare test reports and engineering documentation while managing objectives autonomously in a fast-moving environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 1–3 years of experience in product design and development; robotics industry experience is preferred.
• Advanced SolidWorks skills for 3D part modelling, assembly design, and 2D drafting.
• Experience with fits and tolerance analysis, GD&T, and tolerance stack-up.
• Knowledge of design calculations for sheet-metal structures and manufacturing processes including sheet-metal cutting and bending, aluminum extrusion, and plastic injection moulding.
• Strong value engineering, critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, presentation, project management, and multitasking skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in robotics or mechatronics.
• Plastic part design experience.
• Additional SolidWorks experience.
