Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer - Onsite (X-ray Imaging)

Location: Boxborough, Massachusetts, United States; onsite presence required four days per week.

Salary: $106,400–$159,600 per year, plus eligibility for the hirify.global Incentive Plan.

What you will do

• Lead mechanical engineering projects from requirements definition through detailed design, verification, implementation, and design transfer.
• Design mechanical and electromechanical components, assemblies, mechanisms, fixtures, and test equipment.
• Create, review, and release 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and product development documentation.
• Define verification strategies, write test protocols, develop fixtures, and evaluate test results.
• Investigate mechanical, integration, manufacturing, and product performance issues and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with suppliers, subcontractors, quality, manufacturing, and other engineering teams on technical solutions and system integration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of engineering experience, master’s degree with 2+ years, or Ph.D. with 0+ years of experience.
• Experience in mechanical product development with ownership of engineering projects or major technical workstreams.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software and engineering drawings, including GD&T.
• Must work onsite in Boxborough, Massachusetts four days per week.
• Must possess unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and throughout employment; sponsorship is not available for this role.

Nice to have

• Experience with electromechanical or motion-control systems for capital equipment.
• Experience with SolidWorks, SolidWorks PDM, Agile PLM, or similar engineering data-management systems.
• Experience with verification planning, test fixture development, product transfer, and manufacturing readiness.
• Experience in regulated product development, medical devices, X-ray imaging, or complex multidisciplinary system integration.
