Senior Java Software Engineer - Defense & Sensor Systems (U.S. Citizenship required) (Java)

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded backend and standalone Java applications.
• Lead software efforts from requirements through deployment and sustainment.
• Develop and troubleshoot multithreaded applications in Linux environments.
• Integrate software with networked and serial-connected devices and support system integration testing.
• Manage source code, reviews, configuration control, issues, estimates, and deliverables using Git, Jira, and related tools.
• Coordinate technical activities across software, hardware, and systems engineering teams, including customer events and field activities.

Requirements

• Expert Java development and software architecture experience focused on embedded backend and standalone applications.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and multithreaded programming skills.
• Experience with Git, Jira, and Linux-based development environments.
• Experience leading or managing software engineering teams.
• At least 5 years of professional software development experience and a BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Ubuntu, C++, Bash, Android, ATAK, ISA, MIL-STD-498, software security practices, or hardware integration.
