Senior Counsel (Remote or Hybrid)

Location: Jacksonville, Florida, with an opportunity to work from or build a presence in Central Florida, especially Orlando. Remote, hybrid, or onsite work options are available. An active Florida Bar license is required.

Salary: $150,000–$190,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Annual billable-hours bonuses are also available.

What you will do

• Handle court appearances, depositions, briefs, discovery, trial preparation, and trials independently.
• Manage full case responsibilities for sophisticated and high-exposure liability matters.
• Develop compelling case themes and litigation strategies.
• Communicate routinely with clients and cultivate relationships with existing and future clients.
• Collaborate with attorneys at all experience levels and provide direction to less experienced attorneys.

Requirements

• Active Florida Bar license required.
• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-approved law school.
• 8+ years of solid litigation experience, including litigation support, depositions, and trial preparation.
• Experience managing all facets of discovery and trial proceedings.
• Strong legal research, writing, listening, verbal communication, independent judgment, and time-management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and time-management systems.

Nice to have

• Insurance defense experience.
• Law Review membership or another demonstrated record of exceptional legal research and writing.
• Significant courtroom or trial experience.
