Associate Senior Counsel

Location: Hybrid, LA - Mandeville, United States

Annual base salary: $120,400–$198,700, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Independently manage a caseload of moderate- to high-complexity insurance defense matters, including major cases where applicable.
• Prepare cases for trial, conduct trials to verdict, negotiate resolutions, and handle hearings, depositions, and other court proceedings.
• Conduct advanced legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other substantive legal documents.
• Provide case analysis and handling recommendations to insured clients and Claims partners.
• Work with expert witnesses and consultants to develop case strategies and prepare litigation testimony.
• Build client and business-partner relationships, deliver legal training, and mentor attorneys and legal support staff.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate or equivalent international legal degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license in good standing to practice law in the state or states where representation is required.
• At least 4 years of experience as a practicing attorney; 5+ years of insurance defense litigation experience preferred.
• Experience handling hearings, trials, dispositive motion arguments, depositions, and other court proceedings, with the ability to travel to them.
• Strong legal research, writing, oral advocacy, negotiation, decision-making, and case-management skills.
• A valid driver's license is required depending on the location.
