Carbon Projects Quality Control Intern (Climate Tech)

What you will do

• Develop, refine, and standardize quality-control frameworks, risk matrices, and evaluation checklists for nature-based carbon projects, including ARR, IFM, and REDD+.
• Integrate quality-control protocols and risk-assessment methods into internal digital tools and platforms.
• Assess carbon projects by reviewing baseline logic, growth models, carbon accounting, and GIS spatial data.
• Compile and cross-reference project design, monitoring, validation, verification, spatial, and field inventory documentation.
• Identify risks related to permanence, carbon accounting, and additionality, and document technical recommendations.
• Collaborate with internal teams to communicate risk insights and improve processes across the Risk team.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Forestry, Forest Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of forest inventory, growth modeling, and carbon accounting standards such as Verra/VCS, Gold Standard, or CAR.
• Familiarity with GIS applications and remote-sensing data.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail when reviewing complex datasets.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English are required.
