TL;DR
Staff Software Engineer - ML/AI (Time-Series Anomaly Detection): Building production machine learning systems and MLOps pipelines that analyze connected-device behavior, detect anomalies, and trigger real-time alerts with an accent on time-series modeling, streaming inference, and operational reliability. Focus on designing interpretable detection models, managing behavior drift, integrating LLM-based AI systems, and mentoring teams building scalable applied AI and full-stack solutions.

Location: Oak Brook, Illinois, or Remote - California. Domestic and international travel of up to 10% is required.

Salary: $148,912–$254,054 per year, plus benefits, 401(k) contribution, and eligibility for a short-term incentive plan.

Company

hirify.global Group develops connected access solutions powered by myQ technology for homes, businesses, and communities worldwide.

What you will do

  • Design, deploy, and optimize machine learning models for anomaly detection in time-series data from cameras, door sensors, and access logs.
  • Build pipelines using statistical methods, classical machine learning, and deep learning to identify behavioral deviations.
  • Enable real-time model inference, stream processing, alert triggering, and feedback loops for behavior drift and seasonal variation.
  • Develop MLOps pipelines for model training, testing, deployment, monitoring, versioning, and retraining.
  • Contribute to AI architecture and integrate anomaly detection systems with LLM-based assistants and agentic AI.
  • Lead, mentor, hire, and grow applied AI and full-stack engineers while guiding production-readiness and technical decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years in ML engineering or data science focused on real-time systems, behavior modeling, or time-series data.
  • Production experience building and deploying anomaly detection systems.
  • Strong knowledge of time-series analysis, statistical anomaly detection, classical machine learning, deep learning for sequences, change point detection, and alert systems.
  • Strong Python skills and experience with scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Pandas, NumPy, Kafka, Spark, or Flink.
  • Experience with streaming data, MLOps, CI/CD for ML, event-driven architectures, edge devices, IoT environments, vector databases, or LLM integration.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Prophet, Darts, GluonTS, Kats, or Merlion.
  • Experience in IoT, software services, video, AI, consumer electronics, or smart home companies.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience building 0-to-1 systems and communicating models, metrics, and uncertainty to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Culture & Benefits

  • Full-time employment with comprehensive benefits and a 401(k) contribution, subject to eligibility.
  • Eligibility for participation in a short-term incentive plan.
  • Inclusive equal-opportunity workplace supporting employees from diverse backgrounds.
  • Work across product, engineering, data engineering, platform, and AI research teams.
