Sr. AI/ML Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote, U.S.-based position. Candidates may not reside in Alaska, California, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia, or Wyoming. hirify.global's headquarters and office are in Austin, Texas.

What you will do

• Train and fine-tune supervised learning models, including classification, ranking, and embedding models, for internal tools and customer-facing features.
• Lead prompt engineering, LLM testing, model benchmarking, and evaluation initiatives across the product suite.
• Design evaluation pipelines and tools for tracking model performance, offline metrics, cross-validation, and A/B testing.
• Optimize Elasticsearch-backed data systems and AI intelligence pipelines.
• Evaluate commercial and open-source LLMs for performance, cost, alignment, and reliability.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and security teams to deploy safe, scalable, compliant, and maintainable AI features.

Requirements

• 4–6+ years of experience in machine learning engineering, applied AI, data science, or software engineering, including 2+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of LLMs, traditional machine learning, prompt engineering, model fine-tuning, and evaluation.
• Proficiency in Python and ML libraries such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Hugging Face.
• Experience with Elasticsearch or other large-scale search and indexing platforms.
• Experience with cloud-based ML tooling and data workflows, such as SageMaker or Bedrock.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience training and deploying supervised learning models in production.
