Interaction Design Lead (AI)

Location: Based out of the London studio, London, United Kingdom

Salary: £70,000–£80,000 GBP per year, depending on experience

What you will do

• Lead and co-lead multidisciplinary projects from research and framing through design, prototyping and delivery.
• Set design direction while staying hands-on with journeys, flows, interfaces, interaction details and service experiences.
• Build and guide prototypes using Figma, code and AI-assisted tools, then test ideas with people.
• Partner with researchers and technologists on usability, accessibility, experiments and product-data-informed design decisions.
• Explore conversational and agentic UX, including intent expression, human approval, transparent system behaviour, redirection and error recovery.
• Manage project plans, resources and milestones; facilitate client sessions, present design narratives, mentor designers and contribute to proposals.

Requirements

• 6–8 years of professional experience in interaction design, digital product design, UX/UI or a related discipline, including 1–2+ years leading projects or multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong interaction design craft and a portfolio demonstrating the transformation of complex requirements into clear experiences.
• Experience with human-centred design, research, usability testing, accessibility and inclusive design.
• Ability to scope, brief and delegate work, manage timelines and resources, and guide small to medium-sized teams.
• Strong prototyping skills in Figma or comparable tools, with confidence using AI-assisted ideation and prototyping while evaluating outputs independently.
• Excellent storytelling, presentation, facilitation and client relationship skills, plus an interaction design qualification or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience taking digital products or services from concept to launch with product managers and engineers.
• Experience using product analytics and experimentation to evaluate design decisions.
• Experience designing conversational or agentic experiences and building functional prototypes with code or AI coding tools.
• Experience shaping proposals, scoping engagements, developing repeat client work or contributing to design systems.
