Technical Business Analyst Co-op with Drexel University

Location: Bala Cynwyd (Philadelphia Area), Pennsylvania, United States; work between the Bala headquarters and offices in Dublin and Sydney.

What you will do

• Translate business requests into tools, systems, and reports that support business operations.
• Develop and implement universal calculation tools independent of location and securities type.
• Analyze business processes and workflows, identifying opportunities to improve controls and reduce risk.
• Test control effectiveness and support the development of an internal books-and-records system.
• Build reconciliation tools for data comparison and trade reporting.
• Produce and maintain daily, monthly, and annual reports for management decision-making.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, or MariaDB.
• Proficiency in an object-oriented programming language, particularly Python or VBA.
• Experience with HTML.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, time-management, and prioritization skills.
• Interest in financial markets and the ability to work across trading, operations, technology, management, and external vendor groups.
• Visa sponsorship for work authorization is not available now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of software development life cycle models.
• Experience in trading operations, business analysis, or a related role.
