Sr. Specialist, Procurement (Aerospace)

Location: On-site in Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States; first-shift hours required.

What you will do

• Execute purchase orders for direct materials using MRP signals, forecasts, and production requirements.
• Maintain SAP material master data, purchasing records, vendor data, and ERP action and exception messages.
• Manage supplier communications, on-time delivery, corrective actions, performance reviews, qualification, and development.
• Drive cost reduction, pricing and payment-term negotiations, purchase price variance reduction, budgeting, and standard-cost updates.
• Optimize inventory levels, safety stock, lead times, order quantities, and supply continuity while preventing shortages.
• Use SAP, Excel, Power BI, and analytics to forecast supply risk, build dashboards, support scenario planning, and lead procurement improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, operations, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of purchasing experience in aerospace or another complex, regulated manufacturing environment.
• Expert SAP experience with MM; PP and MRP experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of MRP, BOM structures, material master data, procurement workflows, and direct-material supplier management.
• Experience with cost reduction, negotiation, contract management, Excel, Power BI, analytical reporting, and problem solving.
• Ability to work on-site in Grand Rapids, Michigan, during first-shift hours.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of AS9100, ITAR, DFARS, NADCAP, FAA, supplier scorecards, risk management, Should Cost analysis, and Lean or Six Sigma principles.
• Experience with complex commodities, long supply-chain lead times, and highly engineered components.
• Project management or supply chain certification such as PMP, Lean Practitioner, CPIM, or CSCP.
• Advanced SAP reporting experience with SAP BW or SAP Analytics Cloud.
