SEO Specialist (GEO/AI)

Location: Fully remote within the United States. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US. Visa sponsorship is not provided. The position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a favorable Secret clearance determination.

Salary: $75,000–$85,000 per year.

What you will do

• Conduct recurring technical SEO audits across large, multi-property federal digital environments.
• Optimize content for generative and AI search surfaces, including Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, ChatGPT search, and Copilot.
• Improve page speed, Core Web Vitals, mobile responsiveness, crawlability, XML sitemaps, robots.txt, and indexing.
• Implement schema markup, JSON-LD, structured metadata, internal linking, taxonomy, and search-friendly information architecture.
• Collaborate with content, UX, engineering, media, and PMO teams to integrate SEO/GEO requirements into releases.
• Develop SEO training, documentation, workshops, KPI reporting, and actionable recommendations for leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of technical SEO experience with enterprise websites.
• Experience with Google Search Console, Lighthouse, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, PageSpeed Insights, technical audits, indexing diagnostics, and website performance tuning.
• Working knowledge of generative and AI search behavior, LLM-based retrieval, structured content, FAQs, conversational search, and voice interfaces.
• Understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript behavior, CMS platforms, accessibility, mobile optimization, SEM, and paid media concepts.
• Must be authorized to work in the US and able to obtain and maintain a favorable Secret clearance determination.

Nice to have

• Experience with federal, DoD, or large enterprise content ecosystems.
• Familiarity with API-driven search services, metadata governance, taxonomy standards, headless CMS, or component-based content architectures.

Hiring process

• The position is contingent on contract award and has a one-year performance period with two one-year option periods.
