Senior Solution Architect (AI)

Location: Onsite at Barlow 2400 32 Ave NE, Calgary, AB, Canada. The role is associated with Calgary and Brampton, and Corporate Employees are expected to work onsite.

What you will do

• Lead assessment of complex business and technical requirements and translate them into end-to-end data and AI solutions.
• Own architecture across data processing, storage, integration, consumption, security, analytics, and AI-enabled capabilities.
• Define reusable patterns for GenAI, RAG, enterprise and vector search, document processing, semantic models, and AI agents.
• Guide engineering teams through discovery, design, implementation, design reviews, and production readiness.
• Collaborate with business, engineering, data science, analytics, security, governance, and platform teams.
• Assess existing architectures, technical debt, data lineage, dependencies, emerging technologies, and AI-related risks.

Requirements

• University degree in computer science, information technology, data management, or equivalent experience.
• Strong experience architecting solutions across multiple systems, platforms, or business domains.
• Strong knowledge of data architecture, data structures, modern data platforms, database management systems, ETL, SQL, programming, and big data.
• Hands-on cloud experience with Azure, AWS, Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, ADF, Event Hubs, Storage, and Key Vault.
• Experience with on-premises-to-cloud data migration and with security, privacy, governance, access control, and data protection.
• Experience designing AI/ML or GenAI enterprise solutions involving LLMs, RAG, embeddings, vector search, semantic search, prompt orchestration, and AI agents.

Nice to have

• Experience with unstructured and semi-structured data, large-scale transformation or migration programs, and streaming platforms such as Kafka.
• Cloud architecture certifications such as AWS or Azure.
• Telecommunications industry experience.
• Experience mentoring peers and working with AI capabilities across Azure AI, Databricks, and Snowflake.
