Principal Java Developer

Location: 100% remote within the United States

Salary: $120,000–$170,000 annually

What you will do

• Architect, design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade web applications and distributed systems operating at significant scale.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs and production-quality Java and Spring Boot implementations.
• Build cloud-native services, RESTful APIs, microservices, and responsive React applications.
• Deploy and support applications throughout their operational lifecycle on major cloud platforms.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, DevOps engineers, and developers in an Agile environment.
• Investigate production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and document technical findings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 12 years of professional experience building production-grade enterprise applications.
• Advanced Java 11/17 and Spring Boot experience, including clean RESTful API design.
• Production experience with microservices, SQL and relational databases, CI/CD, Git workflows, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Hands-on React experience; familiarity with Angular or Vue is a plus.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States; new H-1B visa petitions cannot be sponsored.

Nice to have

• Event-driven architecture experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or equivalent streaming platforms.
• Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of eventual consistency, CAP trade-offs, idempotency, and saga patterns.
• Experience with automated testing, test-driven development, or behavior-driven development.
