Senior Process Safety Engineer

What you will do

• Lead the implementation, development, and continuous improvement of Process Safety Management at a high-volume, high-hazard membrane manufacturing facility.
• Provide process safety expertise for projects, engineering changes, design reviews, and operational improvements.
• Facilitate HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, ALARP, and DSEAR assessments, ensuring actions are assigned and closed effectively.
• Manage compliance requirements related to DSEAR/ATEX, COMAH, PSSR, and process safety-critical equipment.
• Own and support process safety improvement and CAPEX projects while coaching site teams.
• Support Process Safety Management improvements across other Cytiva sites, with Newquay as the primary manufacturing site.

Requirements

• Experienced process safety professional with technical knowledge of high-hazard manufacturing environments.
• Practical experience with Process Safety Management, HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, ALARP, DSEAR/ATEX, COMAH, and PSSR.
• Experience working with engineering, operations, maintenance, EHS, and project teams.
• Degree-level qualification in science, engineering, chemical engineering, process engineering, or a related discipline.
• Chartership or progress toward chartership.
• Proactive communication, coaching, mentoring, and ownership of process safety activities and improvement projects.

Nice to have

• People management or facilities management experience.
• Experience supporting site infrastructure, utilities, maintenance teams, or operational services in manufacturing.
