AI Engineer II (Mid-Level), Agentic Systems

Location: Fully onsite in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States; local candidates only. No remote work or relocation assistance. Visa and green card sponsorship are not available.

Salary: $80,000–$100,000 per year

What you will do

• Translate complex business processes into agent designs covering roles, tool schemas, memory, and human-in-the-loop review.
• Build production orchestration with LangGraph and Microsoft Agent Framework, integrating MCP tools and enterprise APIs.
• Integrate agents with business platforms and data flows, using validation and reconciliation checks to ensure accurate outputs.
• Design document retrieval with hybrid search, reranking, metadata filtering, and document-level access controls.
• Build Azure application infrastructure with infrastructure as code and CI/CD while following security, identity, and networking standards.
• Establish LLMOps, security controls, audit logging, prompt-injection defenses, documentation, and delivery tracking.

Requirements

• Must be local to Pittsburgh, PA and work fully onsite.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
• 3–6 years of software, ML, or data engineering experience, including at least 1 year building production LLM applications.
• Expert Python, strong API design and SQL skills, plus familiarity with C#/.NET and Microsoft SQL Server or Azure SQL.
• At least one agentic or RAG system shipped to real users, along with experience evaluating LLM outputs and validating AI-generated code.
• Experience deploying Azure applications with cloud identity, networking, containers, serverless technologies, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD.

Nice to have

• Experience with business automation, financial workflows, or transaction-oriented enterprise systems.
• Experience with multi-agent systems, MCP servers, custom tool-use frameworks, or integrations across CRM, ERP, HR/payroll, and SaaS platforms.
• Experience fine-tuning or serving open-weight models with vLLM, Azure Machine Learning, or Azure-hosted services.
• Relevant Azure AI, Azure Developer, or Azure Solutions Architect certification.
