AI Engineer (Coding Agents)

Location: Remote, supporting EST hours; role associated with New Jersey and the United States

Salary: $100,000–$130,000 per year, with potential discretionary bonus

What you will do

• Use Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and similar coding agents to deliver production features, refactors, migrations, tests, and documentation.
• Build standardized agent configurations, project memory files, custom commands, skills, subagents, hooks, and context packages.
• Develop MCP servers and integrations with repositories, ticketing systems, CI/CD, documentation, and internal APIs.
• Automate agent-driven software delivery through CLIs, SDKs, CI/CD pipelines, pull-request reviews, testing, dependency upgrades, and migration jobs.
• Implement security controls, sandboxing, permissions, audit logging, AWS Bedrock and IAM integrations, and enterprise AI governance.
• Build telemetry and evaluation pipelines to measure agent usage, cost, quality, acceptance rates, cycle time, and defect rates.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong Python skills and proficiency in at least one additional language such as TypeScript or Java.
• Daily hands-on experience using Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or similar agents to ship non-trivial production work.
• Experience building MCP servers, custom tools, skills, subagents, hooks, CI/CD automation, and agent workflows through CLIs or SDKs.
• Knowledge of Git workflows, testing, code review, secure coding, prompt and context design, and task decomposition.
• Working knowledge of AWS, including Bedrock, IAM, Lambda, API Gateway, and S3.

Nice to have

• Experience with the Claude Agent SDK, Claude on Bedrock, or the OpenAI Agents SDK.
• Background in legacy modernization, migration programs, internal developer platforms, or developer productivity tooling.
• Experience with AI gateways, LLM observability, usage and cost tracking, and regulated environments.
• Knowledge of SAST/DAST, software supply chain security, Terraform, CDK, or AWS certifications.
• Financial Services experience in banking, capital markets, asset management, wealth management, or insurance.
